Women Learn, Laugh and Lunch at Conference

The annual Women’s Conference, offered through Outreach, Business and Community Development, proved a perfect opportunity for learning, laughing and lunch. Following Dr. Maureen Murphy’s warm welcome to participating community members, keynote speaker, cartoonist Liza Donnelly launched an insightful and humorous look at popular culture today. She discussed women’s roles, the larger society and how humor can be a force for change.

This popular annual event featured a wide range of workshop sessions offering everything from literature to psychology, and Spanish language to wine tasting. Special thanks to Brookdale faculty and staff who provided several of the presentations enjoyed by so many; and to all those who provided helping hands.

The day ended with a standing ovation for award winning dance partners Christina Penatello and her husband who showed all present what it really means to Rhumba!
