Students Put “Personal” Touch on Valentine’s Day

Students came together to celebrate the month of love on Feb. 12 by designing a personalized Valentine’s Day greeting card in the Student Life Center.

With the aid of Personacards, a Pennsylvania-based company that designs quirky, offbeat greeting cards for a wide range of holidays, events and achievements, the students were able to craft a personalized card for the Valentine of their choice.

Jill Donovan, assistant director of Brookdale’s Office of Student Life and Activities, said the goal of the activity was to bring people together and create a “social, loving atmosphere” in the MLK lounge.

In addition to the free greeting cards, students were able to snack on a wide range of Valentines-themed treats, including cupcakes and candy.

International student Sébastian Diaz said he was thrilled to have the opportunity to celebrate Valentine’s Day for the first time here in the United States.

“I think Valentine’s Day should be celebrated everyday,” he said.

The Personacards event was a part of the “Daytime Diversion” program, sponsored by Student Life and Activities.
