Applause

Applause goes to the following Brookdalians!

Kudos to the following Brookdalians:

Karyn Arnold and Katie Shea presented at a workshop to families in the Spanish Ministry at St. Mark’s Church in Sea Girt where they discussed attending Brookdale and the opportunities available. They also informed families about applying for financial aid and other financing options.

Reve Anderko and Karyn Arnold presented at Long Branch High School about attending Brookdale by participating the Early Bird program.

Maria Breger completed training to apply the Quality Matters (QM) Rubric. QM is a leader in quality assurance for online education and has received national recognition for its peer-based approach to continuous improvement in online education and student learning.

Donna Cuddy and Stephanie Fitzsimmons participated on a panel for high school sophomores and juniors at Middletown North High School to discuss the college admission process.  Representatives from Brookdale, Rutgers, Rider and Rowan were in attendance.

Dina Long with Sea Bright Rising and VH1 won a 2013 Telly Award honoring outstanding local, regional, and cable television commercials and programs as well as work created for the web. Dina was also a panelist at the 2014 Coastal Summit of the American Shore and Beach Preservation Association Conference.

Suzanne Parker’s book, “Viral,” has been chosen to be part of the 2014 Over the Rainbow List of recommended queer books by the American Library Association. Suzanne’s poems were accepted by The Boiler Journal and The Wide Shore: A Journal of Global Women’s Poetry and her work has been nominated for the 2013 Pushcart Prize in Poetry.

Richard Sorrell was quoted in the Rochester Review, the University of Rochester’s alumni magazine, about the Beatles’ and their impact on American culture for the past 50 years. Richard’s course on social history of rock and roll was also highlighted in the magazine.
