Brookdale Community College congratulated the 2013 Diagnostic Medical Sonography, Radiologic Technology, and Respiratory Care graduates at the College’s annual Allied Health Pinning Ceremony on May 15.
Dr. Maureen Murphy, President, welcomed family and friends to celebrate the accomplishments of the allied health students, and commended the students for their determination and dedication to the program.
During the ceremony, Dr. Jayne Edman, Dean of Science and Health Science, spoke of the significance of Pinning.
“Pinning is a special event for all of our Health Science students. Pinning is us here at Brookdale linking ourselves to you forever more,” said Edman. “From now on, every morning when you dress for work, you will put on this pin, this memory anchor, which will remind you of your days here at Brookdale.”
Tricia Mocci, Diagnostic Medical Sonography graduate, spoke at the ceremony highlighting the importance of perseverance and commitment.
“Is it possible? Well, the answer is ‘yes!’ For all the stay at home moms and dads, if you lost your job or want to change your job, it’s possible. If you’re fresh out of high school, middle aged, or older, it’s possible. If you have too much going on in your life this year, do it the following year or the year after that. It’s yours just waiting for you,” said Mocci. “I can’t think of a place that is more picturesque, with phenomenal faculty and staff, than here at Brookdale Community College.”
