Brookdale faculty, administration, and staff gathered in the Collins Arena Tuesday, September 3, for the Fall 2013 Convocation.
Following an introduction of new staff and an address by President Maureen Murphy, attendees participated in a jig saw activity where they learned more about 10 college initiatives. These include the President’s Jubilee Commission, the new Canvas learning management system, the Freehold campus, the Roadmap grant, the Wall construction project, Strategic Enrollment Management (SEM), information technology initiatives, the Early College High School (ECHS) in Neptune, Interest Based Bargaining (IBB), and the Periodic Review Report (PRR).
Later in the day, Tia Brown McNair, senior director for Student Success in the Office of Diversity, Equity and Student Success at the Association of American Colleges and Universities (AAC&U), spoke about the high impact practices that are central to the Roadmap grant. Brookdale is one of ten community colleges selected for Phase Two of this grant.
