Brookdale students, faculty and alumni will be featured alongside noted artists from the Monmouth County community in the Center for Visual Arts (CVA) gallery’s new exhibition “Honoring Summer II,” which opens June 24.
Running through July 29, the show will feature dozens of photographs, paintings and other artwork created by 12 local artists, including Brookdale English Professor Tim Burke, former faculty member Mike Quon, current student Matthew Heasley and award-winning visual artist Jill Kerwick.
“Every summer we bring artwork by a select group of artists to display in the CVA gallery for the benefit of our summer students, visiting students and local high school students on campus for special projects,” said Brookdale art Professor Marie Maber.
“This year’s show boasts an especially dynamic mix of collage, paintings, photography and other work by some of the best visual artists in our area.”
The CVA gallery will host a free opening reception for the show on Friday, June 26 from 6 – 9 p.m on the Lincroft campus. All are invited to attend.
“Honoring Summer II,” sponsored by the Brookdale Alumni Association, the Art Department and the Business & Community Development division, will be open to Brookdale community members from June 24 to July 29. Class visits are encouraged.
For visiting hours or more information contact Marie Maber at 732-224-2881 or visit the CVA Gallery webpage.
