Chhange Honors ‘Big Read’ Essay Contest Winners

Congratulations to Brookdale students Ian Kelsey, Karishma Hirani, and Robert Jones who were selected as the winners of the Big Read Brookdale Essay Contest.

The application process for the contest, which was sponsored by The Center for Holocaust, Human Rights, and Genocide Education (Chhange), required an essay written in a Brookdale course which directly related to the novel ‘A Lesson Before Dying.’ The submissions were later judged by a panel of faculty members from the English Department.

The essay contest was the final event associated with The Big Read, a program of the National Endowment for the Arts in partnership with Arts Midwest.
