Charity Challenge Kicks Off at Brookdale

Calling all Brookdale supporters! The Brookdale Community College Foundation is a featured participant in this year’s OceanFirst Charity Challenge.

For the next four weeks, the Foundation will be “competing” against nonprofit organizations throughout Monmouth and Ocean counties in an online fundraising campaign.

The organization that raises the most money by Friday, May 15th at 2 p.m. will win a $15,000 OceanFirst grant. Second place will win $5,000 and third place will win $2,000.

Participating organizations are also eligible to win weekly “bonus challenges,” OceanFirst grants and other prizes.

Employees, students, alumni and community members are invited to help support the Foundation and put Brookdale on top. Donate as an individual or recruit your friends and family to participate as a team. The minimum donation is $10.

Regardless of the outcome, all donations will go toward the Foundation’s “Building Minds, Building Futures” scholarship fund, which provides scholarships to Brookdale students who don’t qualify for financial aid. Last year alone, the fund awarded nearly $400,000 in scholarships and grants to more than 500 students.

“This is a fantastic opportunity for the Brookdale community to come together, have some fun, and support a truly worthy cause,” said Timothy Zeiss, executive director of the Foundation and Alumni Affairs.
