More than 100 students braved a chilly rain on Sept. 25 to attend Brookdale’s first ever Major Exploration Fair in the Student Life Center on the Lincroft campus.
Students were able connect with representatives from Brookdale’s academic divisions and departments, student services offices, and a variety of Brookdale resources by visiting any of the 25 tables at the fair. Sponsored by Career Services and Student Life and Activities, the event was designed to help students explore different majors, identify career paths and learn about transfer options at four-year colleges.
“A student may be undeclared, or they may know that they want an English degree, but they may not know what they can do with it,” said Robert Quinones, director of Student Life and Activities at Brookdale. “Whether a student is just starting out or approaching graduation, we want to make sure they have a clear pathway to success.”
The fair, which was thought up by the Brookdale Student Life Board, featured a wide range of academic and professional offerings, including representatives from Brookdale’s International Education Center and the college’s acclaimed nursing program. Attendees also got a few free treats as well.
The Major Exploration Fair is a part of the “A Day in the Life” series, an ongoing program of events from Career Services and Student Life & Activities that allows Brookdale students the opportunity to explore their future options.
