GED Test Current Version Expires at End of 2013

New Jersey has announced that the current version of the GED test will expire at the end of 2013. This version, known as the 2002 Series GED test, will be replaced with the new 2014 GED test on January 2, 2014.

Students Compete in New Jersey Governor’s Cyber Challenge

Four Brookdale Community College students are among the 104 finalists in a statewide technology competition hosted by Governor Chris Christie and the Secretary of Higher Education. Dubbed the “New Jersey Governor’s Cyber Challenge,” the event will take place Saturday, March 23 at Brookdale, and will be administered by the Cyber Aces Foundation.

Super Storm Sandy struck late October, in the middle of the fall semester, destroying homes, flooding neighborhoods, cars and closing businesses. Our communities and Brookdale students lost possessions and many also lost wages.

WWII Center to Show Classic Film at Brookdale – Film Authority to Comment

Brookdale Community College’s Center for World War II Studies and Conflict Resolution will screen the classic, “Battlefield Guadalcanal” Tuesday, February 19 in the Warner Student Life Center, lower level, Twin Lights Room. The presentation will begin at 7:00 p.m.

Newest Brookdale Trustee Named

Tracey Abby-White, 56, of Atlantic Highlands, the newest member of Brookdale Community College’s Board of Trustees, was sworn in on Thursday, February 21, at the monthly Board of Trustees’ meeting.

After witnessing the execution of a death-row inmate she had been counseling, Sister Helen Prejean wrote Dead Man Walking: An Eyewitness Account of the Death Penalty in the United States.

NJ’s Safest Campus: Brookdale Ranks #1

Brookdale Community College has again been ranked New Jersey’s Safest School among two and four year institutions, earning an overall safety score of 98.33%.

Freeze in Tuition at Brookdale for 2013-2014 Academic Year

Brookdale Community College’s Board of Trustees approved the College’s proposed FY 2014 budget, which includes a freeze in tuition rates for the 2013-14 academic year, at their monthly meeting last night.
