Alternative Spring Break 2013: Habitat for Humanity

Nine Brookdale students, along with chaperones Christopher Jeune and Robert Quinones from Student Life & Activities, worked with Habitat for Humanity in Waynesburg, Pennsylvania as part of their Collegiate Challenge during the week of Spring Break. The students rehabilitated an existing two-story home and helped demolish another home in the small mining community of about 4,000 people, located approximately one hour southwest of Pittsburgh. The group was hosted by St. Ann’s Catholic Church and Waynesburg University.

Since its founding in 1976, Habitat for Humanity International has built and repaired over 600,000 homes under the mission that every person deserves decent, affordable housing.
