Howell Resident Suzanne Brennan was sworn in as the newest member of the Brookdale Community College Board of Trustees on Sept. 12 during the board’s monthly public meeting at the college’s Wall Township campus.
A practicing attorney and a lifelong resident of Monmouth County, Brennan currently serves as the municipal public defender for Howell Township. She was a member of the Howell Township Board of Education from 2010 to 2016, where she served terms as vice president and chair of the board’s labor committee.
A native of Freehold Township and a mother of three, Brennan also maintains a private law practice in Howell.
“I am very honored and excited to be a part of this magnificent team,” Brennan said, following a public swearing-in ceremony on Sept. 12.
“The Brookdale board is innovative and forward-thinking, and I appreciate that. I hope to use my skills and experience in both the law and as a former board of education member to help local students succeed and serve all members of the Monmouth County community.”
Following the swearing-in ceremony, board Chair Carl Guzzo Jr. said he and his colleagues were excited to welcome Brennan as the newest Brookdale trustee.
“She is an attorney, a mom, and a great all-around person who is tremendously knowledgable about the educational world,” said Guzzo. “I think she is going to be a fantastic addition to the board.”
Brennan was appointed to a four-year term on the board by the Monmouth County Board of Chosen Freeholders. She replaces former trustee Joseph DiBella, who served on the board from 2013 to 2017.
