Returning to school after a successful career on Broadway was a no-brainer for Christina Perrino, a psychology major at Georgian Court University. The same is true for Tiffany Thomas, a 44-year-old single mother of three who doesn’t just tell her children to do well in school — she walks the talk by earning high grades as a GCU social work major.
More adult learners like Perinno and Thomas are going back to school to earn degrees that will help them get ahead in their careers. Across the U.S., experts predict a 21.7 percent growth in non-traditional students through 2022. But at only 8.7 percent, growth will be much slower for traditional college students.
GCU’s new partnership with Brookdale Community College, GCU@Hazlet, is attracting adult students like Perrino as they take advantage of the program at Brookdale’s Northern Monmouth Higher Education Center, conveniently located off Rt. 35.
