Brookdale Hosts 2018 Valentine’s Day Party

Dozens of students came together for a “sweet” time in the Student Life Center on Feb. 13 during the Office of Student Life and Activities’ annual Valentine’s Day Party in Lincroft.

The free event offered students a wide variety of holiday-themed treats and activities, including a photo booth, an all-you-can-eat candy wall, heart-shaped balloons, cupcakes, popcorn, hot coffee and more. Attendees could also create a custom, handcrafted PersonaCard designed specifically for their significant other, friends or family members.

“Valentine’s Day isn’t just about your one love. It’s about your loved ones,” said Brookdale student ambassador and second-year civil engineering major Mayte Javier.

“This event was a great way for students to come together, spend some time outside of class and just celebrate the holiday with people they enjoy.”

Members of the Brookdale Educational Opportunity Program’s Rising Leaders Academy also helped share the love during the event, allowing students to paint and personalize their own “Peace Rock” as part of a year-long effort to promote international peace.
